round 'em up...

it's been a while since i blogged - life has been crazy lately to say the least.

indiana was amazing and much, MUCH needed. we got to spend alot of good time with family. sadly i missed out on some time with friends, i hate that... it's always so tough. we don't get up that way near as often as i wish we could and then when we do it's always a whirlwind to see everyone... didn't get a chance to do that this time. i know i upset a dear friend, and i feel so badly about it, but i can't really explain it... it's just with everything going on with dad these days, i just needed some family time. so, we had rachel's shower, the family party, a few other random get togethers at my aunts, and a day at the lake. i attempted wake boarding for the very first time... sadly i couldn't get up, but i had a blast and attempted to do something that REALLY scared me which is a yearly resolution i make for myself. my arms hurt SO bad for like four days after that, it was pathetic. i could hardly open my car door or hold a pen, pretty depressing considering, like i said, i never did get up :-( oh well! there's always next summer.

last weekend was spent at my parents. dad's just not doing well at all. he hardly knows what's going on it seems. i hate this situation, i feel so sad for my mom... i wish so desperately there was something i could do. i keep praying, but it seems that nothing is happening. we'll head back over there again soon, seems that's what we do most weekends these days.

on a lighter note, we headed to the cheatham county fair last night to see the demolition derby... i'm telling you what, if you're ever in the mood for some all-american fun, please promise me you'll go to a demolition derby. they're amazing! we also tried our first deep fried snickers - which to my surprise was amazing! i only had two little bites, i'm really trying to work on this losing weight thing, but those two bites were a little taste of heaven! i also slid down one of those amazing tall slides that kids go down on potato sacks... only i, a 26 year old adult, about had a heartattack. i don't know when i turned into such a scardey cat - but i got up there and the fair worker guy had to literally give me a push, i couldn't make myself let go, then i proceeded to hold my breath the whole way down, mentally telling myself, you can NOT die on a slide, relax and have fun... then i had to deal with everyone looking at me like i can't believe you were just scared on a slide... that part was not so much fun. seems i feel that way alot these days. no matter how hard i try i can't make everyone happy and honestly these days i just don't have the energy to even try that hard... yes, i was scared on a kiddie slide people, deal with it! i'm sorry, i don't need to vent all my negative thoughts here... just know that i'm not trying to be negative or flakey or distant, life's just sort tough right now...

so tomorrow is the lovely miss heather's baby shower. i can't wait to see her, i know she's got quite the baby bump now. then tomorrow night jess and matt will be in town - i haven't seen jessica in months, it'll be nice to catch up.

work is kicking my booty. it's 4th quarter (i don't really know what that means) and we're slammed. i have 6 spreadsheets i'm working on right now, which in a way is good, it keeps me busy and makes the days go by so quickly, but goodness, it's stressful!

and finally, the sweet hubs surprised me and got us tickets to see jimmy fallon next weekend. i'm very excited. we're going friday if anyone wants to join us :-)

well, i best get off to bed, we've got a very busy day tomorrow.

Oh I forgot Jimmy Fallon is coming to town. Aren't tix only $25 each or something like that?

It's ok to be scared on rides...isn't that part of it? The thrill & excitement of doing something "living on the edge" type stuff?

Everyone told me to go to the Wilson Co fair since I work in that county but I heard one night they had 10,000 people there!! Too crowded for me...demolition stuff is fun tho!!!

We have years ahead of us to do fun stuff together!! You did not upset me at all :o) You need to spend time with your family right now and I understand that completely. If we could get together for dinner ONLY at least once a year, I would be happy. We enjoyed your company.

I can see how you are feeling bad for your mom. Don't forget about YOUR feelings though. We will be praying for you and your family. Love you guys!!
