happy friday! ahh, week three of my unemployment comes to an end... blah! i do have one glimmer of hope though - i've got a second interview with a nanny service on monday. did i ever think that after four long years of college and three years in the "normal" working world i'd now be applying to be a full-time nanny - no - but perhaps office life just isn't meant for me and taking care of children is? i have loved babysitting, why not do it full-time??? hmmm, i'm not sure what to do - but i do hope something works out next week - we really need the money. i know that God is in control - i know that everything will work out - now i just need to not be anxious about this mess.
so, wednesday night a friend and i went to something called zumba. it's a class offered at the Y and it's supposed to burn like 600 calories an hour... oh my goodness - did it kick my booty! literally! it's sort of a latin/hip hop dance/cardio class. i'm sure i looked like a fool - BUT - i laughed my face off through the whole thing and about passed out from working so hard - it was great! it was especially fun to try something that i know i'm awful at, sort of like a challenge... maybe next week i won't be so awful??? well, either way, at least it was so good for a giggle :-)
this afternoon before i head out for tonight's sitting job, i'm going to stop by the new trader joes - it's finally open! i've never actually been to one, but i've heard they're pretty much amazing. hmmm... i hope they've got some coupons!
last night was amazing by the way. the sweet hubs and i have not seen each other much... i babysat last friday and saturday, he worked sunday, tuesday and wednesday - so last night was wonderful. we have some friends, a lovely couple that we've known for a good long while now, who welcomed their first child - a sweet baby girl - into the world on wednesday. so we had the pleasure of stopping by the hospital last night to meet her. i know that all babies are cute, but you know, sometimes they sort of come out looking like aliens - not this little miss. she is absolutely beautiful! and so tiny. it was such a joy to hold her for a few minutes and to see that mom and dad are doing well. after that bub and i headed home where we finally opened our bottle of raspberry wine from my visit to arrington vineyard (i don't think i spelled that right). it was the sweetest wine ever, a little overly so, but it was balanced out by some very bitter and dark, but oh so yummy chocolate. we lazed on the couch and watched some tv - it was a wonderful way to spend the evening - i miss him!
