the house projects have started! we haven't even lived in the place a month yet and already we've become rockstar weekend warriors of house projects! two weekends ago my sweet momma came to visit and she and i spent the weekend doing some landscaping. i'll add a picture, but you can't really see much. everything is still so tiny! but it looks alot cleaner and i love my flowers. now if i could only figure out how to get the slugs to stop eating everything! any advice???
this past weekend michael and i tackled our bedroom. we have our first real bedroom furniture being delivered this saturday, so i wanted to have it all painted and nice and ready to go. ugh! it has turned into the project that will NOT end! but it's good - it's all just one long learning process. i wanted to paint the walls a pale green and the trim white. well, we got the bright idea to strip all the old paint off the trim b/c it was all bumpy and lumpy and gross from 50+ years of other people's paint. the bottle made it sound so simple and easy! well, let me just say, it was not! that's the last time we do that. but it's almost done now - just need to put another coat or two of paint on the trim and touch up the ceiling where the awful painter's tape ripped off paint - how does THAT happen??? and we should be good to go. i'll give the floor a good cleaning and we can finally move the bed out of the kitchen, the dresser out of the living room and ourselves out of the guest room. what an adventure home-ownership is!!!
