hello almost 18 weeks of being a pregnant mom-to-be! i can't believe we're almost half way through this adventure! i'm for sure starting to feel and look pregnant. here are some things that a starting to get a little difficult for me -
1. painting my toe nails. i know i'm not huge yet, but just scrunching up to get to my toes puts extra pressure on my tummy and makes me feel like i've eaten a hippo or something. to my defense i had just eaten dinner so my tummy was probably full. note to self, only paint toe nails on an empty stomach!
2. wearing any of my pre-preggo jeans. NOTHING fits me any more! i haven't invested in a lot of maternity clothes yet, i'm thinking i need to get some more roomy pants. till then i'm living in yoga pants, stretchy tights and sun dresses. thank goodness for an 18 month old boss who could care less what i look like :-)
3. watching anything about babies. i see a baby story and i cry, i see baby animals and i cry, i hear about a friend having a baby... and i cry. not sad tears - i guess just hormonal preggo tears???
4. it is now impossible for me to stop freaking out about cleaning the house. it's all i want to do, but i haven't been able to. we've had the father in law staying with us for a couple of weeks and we're getting ready to head out of town next week to oregon, but i have plans for when we get back! we will have a giant yard sale to clear out the spare room to start making room for the little sprout and then i'm going to clean the frap out of our house. i have no idea why, i hear it's called nesting. i want to for real clean the ceiling fan? that's even extreme for this little neat freak!
5. i have to eat moose tracks ice cream every night after dinner. i'm trying to be good about the diet. i want to try to stay as fit as possible. but yeah, i need my ice cream and it has to be moose tracks. yum!
other fun things about being 17 1/2 weeks along - i started feeling kicks. they mostly just feel like little flutters, i know it's the little babe. she seems to really enjoy swimming around in there from 8-10 pm. i love it! it makes me feel more like this is all real and there really is a tiny little person inside my belly!
i love you bub.
