one week to go!

today we are officially 39 weeks pregnant! i can't believe little lady's due date is just one week away... i am TOTALLY fine with her deciding to make her grand arrival any day now though. every day i think, well this has to be it or i can't get more uncomfy and then the next day rolls around and your feet swell a little more, the contractions get a little stronger or it becomes even more difficult to roll myself out of bed. i'm sorry to fuss, i am so thankful for a healthy pregnancy - but i'm really ready to get my body back to myself and to hold baby rosalie in my arms.

sunday i REALLY thought i had gone into labor. i had contractions all day, but they weren't following any pattern so i held off from having bub whisk me away to the hospital... i went to bed that night to wake up with NO contractions - blargh! little trickster!

we had a totally wonderful 5th wedding anniversary last saturday. a dear sweet friend of ours had a gift card to flemming's that she hadn't ever used and shared with us. we had never been there before, it's for sure out of our price range, but she insisted we go have one last nice, quiet child-free anniversary... so off we went. it's the sort of place where you should dress nicely - i fit into NOTHING anymore so had to put on a red maternity sun dress and flip flops, yes flip flops... thankfully everyone was super nice. i'm sure they could see i am about to pop! hubby looked dashing and handsome as always. i felt a little out of place sitting next to him. we had a lovely dinner - probably the best dining out experience that either of us has ever had and then like the two super hot and exciting people we are, we went to target to buy ourselves a coffee pot. married life - what an adventure! we had a tiny little four cup coffee pot - prior to baby r taking up residence in my belly i couldn't tolerate caffeine. i'd have a half a coke and be full of energy literally the whole day. something for sure has changed these past nine months though, perhaps it's the constant state of exhaustion? but i for sure can handle a nice cup of coffee daily and still pass out on the couch at 7pm. bub loves coffee, so our little four cup (which really is a more like TWO cups) pot wasn't cutting it anymore... yep, we got ourselves a nice large coffee maker. happy 5th anniversary to us :-) bub did also surprise me with a gorgeous wooden jewelery box (since the 5th anniversary gift is something made of wood) and had it engraved with our anniversary on it. it's lovely! and while i didn't get him anything made of wood - i mean, what wooden item do you buy a man?? i found a nice more work friendly watch for his super amazing new job :-)

well, i'm off to the doctor shortly. hoping he'll say something like, wow you're 4 cm dilated lets take you to the hospital right now!
