3 years + 1 day

well, it was three years ago yesterday that the sweet hubs and i tied the knot. what a journey it has been so far! the first couple of years were tough, i feel like this year though we've sort of hit our stride... two bull-headed stubborn people from two TOTALLY different family backgrounds make for one interesting new marriage :-) i feel like we're sort of forming our own little family finally though - it's a good feeling. last night was our "real" annivesary, but since it was a thursday we just stayed in. i made a nice little dinner and we exchanged gifts. i gave him a copy of Wild At Heart, a book he's been wanting to read and also tucked a pair of Kings Of Leon tickets in the middle of it. an amazing friend at L100 came through like a champ and gave them to me. bub gave me a gift certificate to Blue River Canyon so i could get a couple massages - ooh, i can't wait! i haven't had a massage in over a year, they're such a treat... now i just have to figure out when to get them. tonight we're going out to celebrate the big day. we did have reservations at this frou frou little italian place, but you know, i'm just in the mood for pizza and beer and bub's feelings weren't hurt by that at all, so we're choosing instead to hit up mellow mushroom for our favorite - pepperoni, green pepper and mushroom pizza and some beers... then it's off to TPAC to see a wonderfully romantic musical - sweeney todd! ok, so it's not romantic AT ALL - but it wil be fun :-) the tickets were free, which makes it even more fun!

well, i had this amazing little post written the other day about the presidential debate and our brush with history - but sadly, it for whatever reason, didn't post. so i'll sum it up short and sweet style. bub saw BOTH candidates motorcades cruising around town while all i saw was a stupid secret service vehicle... boo. oh well, the debate over all ended up being a total waste of time, i thought, nothing new was said at all... i'm so confused by politcs! on a different note though, did anyone catch the SNL Weekend Update on Thursday night? the first skit in which they poke fun at the debate was hysterical and pretty much totally accurate - it gave us a good chuckle :-) before that though we watched that new show - kath and kim - that also gave me a good giggle. i just wish all the shows i like weren't all on thursday night. we can't record stuff anymore and we're too poor to get a DVR, so sadly it'll have to be grey's via internet for me. i'll have to sit down and watch it this weekend.
