two weeks later...

well, here i am - two weeks out from my big "we're letting you go" speech. and you know what - i haven't had a stress headache once this whole time, i'm sleeping better and i think it's making michael and i closer as a couple. it's still for sure a stressful situation - but i know it will all work out. and i have the most amazing husband who has picked me up on his insurance, even though it's expensive and has offered to work more at his part time job to help make ends meet and who also has been nothing but totally supportive and wonderful this whole time. the past couple of days have been a little dissapointing though. i was supposed to have an interview at a temp agency tomorrow - but they had to reschedule to next week. but i did get an interview with a nanny service for monday, so maybe that will work out?? i think that might be a nice option to at least get us through the holidays - but we'll see. i'm also considering filing unemployment - though i really don't want to. i'm also thinking of going back to the TMG - i think it's great money and it'd be fun to be around people, but i hate the thought of having to get shifts covered. with the holidays coming up i don't want to deal with having to swap or beg and plead to get someone to cover my days. we already have plans to go to knoxville, raleigh and auburn - i'm not going to skip any of those b/c i couldn't get a shift covered... hmmm, i just don't know what to do. i do know though, that i have never been happier to leave my last place of employement. that place made me a nervous wreck day and night. i'm so glad to have that behind me.

so on to other news... hmm.. i've gotten lots of good scrapbooking time in. figured i might as well take advantage of it b/c soon enough i'll be back to work and when else will i have time to sit and scrap all day?? i also finished up my most recent knitting class. i'm making this fabulous scarf that has drop stitches in it - so it'll look all hole-ey and such. i'll have to post a picture when i'm done with it. i've been babysitting like a crazy person. this week i sat twice on monday, today and i'm sitting friday and saturday. i'm thankful though - we need the money. i had my first child injury though... and i'm not proud to admit this, but it freaked me out more than was necessary. i was sitting for a little 13 month baby guy and he's learning to walk and wants to walk so badly, but is still rather clumsy. well, it was just about 30 minutes before his momma was supposed to get home, we'd made it the whole afternoon without a bump and i hop up to get his older brother some animal crackers when i hear this awful thwap - then a scream... so i run around the corner - i was literally six feet away from him when this happend, but was as i said, around the corner, so i didn't see it happen. but i scoop him up and look him over, he looks fine, so i hug him and snuggle him and try to get him to calm down when i look down and there is blood pouring out of his mouth. this instantly freaked me out. i've never had a child get hurt on my watch - not that i do anything special, i just either sit for infants who are not mobile yet or older kids that don't fall down and smack their mouths on coffee tables. so we hurry to the kitchen for wet paper towels. there was a bit of blood, i was worried he'd knocked one of his little teeth loose or something, but we got him cleaned up and turned out it looks like he bit his lip on the way down. but i felt SO bad, i was sure his mom would think i'd broken him or something. i told her about it, she didn't seem upset or worried though. looking back on it now though, i do need to learn to handle these things a bit more calmly. i don't think he knew how scared i was, but after it was all said and done i felt like all the blood had run from my body - i was so worried!

anyhow - i'm going to go give myself a pedicure... though it got VERY cold here, so i doubt my toes will see the light of day for a while, but i'll know they're pretty :-)
