warm lap, warm heart

the living room!

as i type i can hardly reach the keys on this here amazing new laptop b/c miss olive has taken residence in my lap - she's the sweetest little kitty when she wants to be, she has found the littlest place and made it her spot! i love it! it's late and it's quiet and i can just peacefully type away... we haven't had a laptop since i was in college - i miss this mobile life!!! AND thankfully now i can carry it to work with me once or twice a week and hopefully get back in touch with friends and family and blogs i have so sadly neglected the last few months.

so we've been painting and painting and deck building and painting the last two weeks. our living room is a wonderful shade of bluey/grey/periwinkle - i LOVE it! and the kitchen is now a bright shade of yellow - it's growing on me. i'm not a yellow fan, but with a blue living room, green bedroom and plans for a brown guest room - what other color could i go? so, yellow it was and it turned out much brighter than i intended, but you know - it's sunny and warm and friendly - so i think i like it! michael is just about done with his deck building - it looks great! i have to admit, i was skeptical - only b/c we've been such apartment dwellers, well, since forever, i wondered how he planned on building a deck from scratch - but he sure proved me wrong. it's gorgeous!!! i can't wait to have friends over and cook out and enjoy it!

conan is back - woo hoo! i couldn't be happier that's he's on an hour earlier and back after a three month vacation... now we must plan a trip to LA to see him! yeah, i'll admit it, i'm a little bit crazy about coney!!!

and since this blog is totally random and jumping from place to place - i'm excited about saturday evening b/c we're going to see.... coldplay! ahh, what a treat... i've heard it's supposed to be the most amazing show ever - so we shall see. i'm mostly excited about just having a date night with the hubby - it's been a while since we just went out and did something fun just the two of us.
