vacation 09 - part uno

well - i'm still learning how to use this little bloggity blog and it seems i somehow got these two pictures out of order - oh well.

this lovely picture to the left is the view from my uncle's dock - i wish so much i could sit on that dock every morning with a hot cup of tea and a journal or some knitting. it's so wonderfully lovely! i really hope some day we're lucky enough to live on or very near a body of water.

we spent sunday day at the lake with the family out on the boat and eating lots of yummy food and just generally enjoying some family time. it was wonderful and greatly needed - i miss my family so so SO much. not everyone was able to make it, but a good majority of us were there. didn't get to see my sweet sister :-( but august will be here soon!

this little picture to my left is of bub and i on the lift at the ft. wayne zoo - it was SO much fun. we were lucky enough to be taken as guests by shannon and miss j and they were lovely tour guides to the whole zoo. my favorite parts had to be the giraffes, the penguins and the cute little petting zoo. it's such a great zoo!

later that evening we went to see a local baseball game - the ft. wayne tin caps were playing the southbend silver hawks i think they were??? anyhow, it was in their amazing new stadium and we had a blast. cousin joe joined us and we sat out in the hot summer sun and took in some baseball - just the way it should be i guess, but i really could have done without the sun right in our eyes the whole time! note to self - sit on the third base side of the ball field next time we go to a game!

that's about it for our trip so far. we're feeling a little nomadic this week. we're home just for tonight and then leave for CT at 7am tomorrow... so i need to get to re-packing things!
