whew and pizza too!

ok, the easter blog theme is gone! not sure i'm digging the all brown thing though, but hey, it gets that silly bunny outta here!

i've been trying to fix us one new dish for dinner each week and last week's was yum yum yummy! we made a greek pizza. i didn't have a recipe for it, just an idea and it turned out deliciously! here's what we did: i bought one of those pre-made pizza crusts. i thought it would be closer to the consistency of a pita vs a regular pizza crust. instead of sauce we used hummus and then we layered on sliced roma tomatoes, sliced green olives, feta cheese and sliced steak that i cooked in lemon juice, olive oil and oregano. i'd love to have used lamb like you would get at a real green place, but just didn't have the time to get to whole foods to buy lamb, nor the $$$.

it was raining like crazy on the way into work this morning and you know what that means - lots and lots of traffic snarls and accidents. i don't know what the frap happens in this town when it rains, but it seems everyone flips out and doesn't know what to do... i left for work early b/c this always happens when it decides to storm during rush hour and on my merry little way i went... i was about half way to work and traffic was packed. i was in the second right hand lane and was surrounded by cars when all of a sudden i noticed a box being smashed to bits and a big paint can flying right at my car annnddd i totally hit it. i had no choice, i couldn't go anywhere and i didn't want to risk slamming on the breaks so me and my little car drove right on over it. i just checked out little vanessa, she appears to be ok. i did however notice a nice big crack in the front bumper though - don't know how that one happened. i guess it could have been the paint can?!?

i'm SO happy it's thursday! thursday's are my friday's and i love my job but it wears me out! i'm so glad when i get a couple of days off - woo thursdays!!!
