ok - house, take two

ok, so it only took me three days to get back to the blog i started... good grief! this new job really is putting a cramp in my emailing/blogging/websurfing style!

the sun came out today! woohoo! though i hear that it's not to stick around too long :-( but i will be a 100% thankful for today! i hope it stays toasty warm for this weekend b/c... we start... packing! ahh! it's true, we're moving. so our lease is up on this little apartment the end of next month and we decided one way or another we would be moving to a two bedroom place b/c we're so tired of not being able to have people over or host overnight guests and having the sweet people that do stay over putting up with an air mattress on our living room floor... SO, we vowed one way or another we would get out of this joint and find a new place. WELL, long story short, we found a place - a little place to buy! i'm very conflicted about it b/c well, two things. one, i really thought if we decided to stay in nashville we would buy like three years from now and by then we'd be able to afford a nice place outside of the city, away from the crime and craziness. OR two, we'd move back home to indiana, which is something i still VERY much want to do. but we had some friends say, there is this precious little house that is dirt cheap for sale on our street and you should look at it. so we did and fell in love with it. so the new plan is, we have to stay in it for three years b/c of the loan we're applying for, but bub still has at least two years of school left and i'm seriously considering heading back to school myself in the fall, so hopefully in three years we'll be done with the schooling, the market will have turned around and we'll be able to sell the little house for more than we paid for it and be able to buy a little dream house away from nashville. still not sure if that might mean franklin or indiana - but for now this seems to make sense. it's going to be cheaper than rent and we'll own it, so we can paint and make noise and have a dog and do whatever we want. i giggle a bit though b/c it is 100% a typical "first house". you can see 24 (as in the interstate) from our backyard and you have to sort of drive through some shady areas to get to it. once you get to the street though it's precious. the neighbors are nice and two of our good friends from college live directly across the street! anyhow - it's still not final. we're playing the ultimate game of chicken with the sellers who have been refusing to fix a few things that absolutely need to be fixed before we can move in and we won't buy it if they don't fix it. but i think tonight they agreed to fix it and toss in a little extra $$ for us to make some repairs ourselves - woot! anyhow - we'll see.

coldplay tickets go on sale saturday at 10am - i am SO excited about this... monday night i went to see NKOTB as in the new kids! it was the cheesiest evening of my life, but fun. i wasn't really allowed to listen to them when i was a kid, so i was sort of lost during most of the show - but hello, who doesn't know Hangin' Tough?!? :-P
