coupon overboard

i planned, i clipped, i hunted out deals... i tried REALLY hard to stick to budget. yet i still fell short - bleck! today was my first attempt at really trying to be a coupon queen. lesson learned - that just b/c you have a coupon for something and it's a really great deal, doesn't necessarily mean you must buy the item. i think that's where i ran into trouble with our grocery budget... plus i'm trying to stock up a little for after baby arrives so poor hubby won't be left trying to figure out what we need. i did end up getting a few things for just pennies at publix - they have some amazing sales! i wish everything else there was cheap. i had to finish the rest of the shopping at kroger. i didn't go too far over budget - i know i can stick to it next week!

i missed ellen's season premiere today when it aired at 2pm rather than the normal 3pm time slot and i didn't know this. imagine my shock and horror when at 2:58 i flipped to cbs only to see the very END of her show and the beginning of dumb old tennis. i HATE tennis... yes, i really do hate it. i don't get it, the scores are odd and i can never figure out game, set, match. now i hate tennis even more. i have this thing with re-runs. i hate them too (wow, i sound grouchy tonight!). especially re-runs of dated shows like talk shows, late night comedy shows, game shows, that sort of thing. so i was really looking forward to a new season of ellen starting. boo!

today's to-do list included - dropping off some items at goodwill, stopping at radio shack to try to return a splitter thingy for the cable/dsl/tv/electronic craziness, they wouldn't take it back since it was the hubby that purchased it, so i'll have to try again tomorrow and take his debit card along with me. i also stopped at the dry cleaner, target (to return some extra baby things), the bank, publix and kroger. then i cleaned most of the house. went swimming, errr, pool walking mixed with SOME swimming at the Y. even just walking back and forth feels lovely with this giant babe in my belly. picked up the hubby from work and came home to make a nice little dinner. i think all in all a pretty productive day.
