well hello day number of two of this new, weird existence. so yesterday i ended up mopping all the floors - we don't have a large house, it's really not that big of a deal. though we don't have carpet anywhere in the house... still, our total square footage is only like 950. why then did i wake up with a screaming back ache today? pregnancy changes every bit of your body that is for sure! i made the hubs a fun little dinner - homemade pizza and spinach salads. and then i promptly talked his poor little ear off all evening since i had been alone all day. i'm going to have to find creative, CHEAP ways to get out of the house and have some human interaction. today's agenda includes, working on our hospital bag and running some errands. so what do you really need in a hospital bag? i've talked to all my mommy friends, searched probably ten different websites and thought what i might like to have in it for myself and i'm still not convinced i'll have what i want and need. i'm typically a huge overpacker. we go away for a weekend and i've got a full suitcase. it isn't that i'm high maintenance or need bags of fancy clothes and shoes - you guys know me! but i always worry what if it's hot or cold or we end up deciding to do some super awesome thing that can only be accomplished if i have my mini fan and blanket?? SO here i am trying to figure out what i will REALLY need in the hospital... but then i think, what if i end up with a c-section, well that puts us in the hospital for a few extra days... how many pairs of underpants do i really need? pj's??? do i take nightgowns or jammy pants? what will baby girl need? one outfit, two? diapers? will i really need a hair dryer? i don't normally dry my hair anyhow, it's soooo thick and heavy. but i don't want to look awful in new baby photos. but lets face it, no one will care about me at that point, rosalie will be the star of the show! i want to listen to music during the labor, will i need a little stereo? can we just take our ipod? UGH! we've also been told to take copies of our birth plan. will the doctors and nurses think we're insane for bringing a list of our wants? will they even read it?
well i best be off to do something productive...

I only took one pair of undies for the trip home. The other days I wore the fancy mesh panties the hospital provided! They are ugly and will make you feel like a cow but they are totally necessary!
Also, DEFINITELY nightgown! The nurses will be in to check you out and see how you are healing. You don't want to have to pull down the pants.
House slippers are a MUST. Also, this may seem strange, but have a hand-held mirror on hand during delivery. You may use it or you may not but I wish I had one so I could see Taylor being born.
If you take clothes for Rosie, don't make them too complicated. A little onesie or a sleeper would be best. She will be new to clothes and probably not like being messed with so much for diaper changes and dressing. We had little button-up t-shirts and didn't even mess with pants for the girls while we were in the hospital.
